When I was in school, my nickname was "Capricious Carmen" because I was a creature of whim. One minute I was a carefree girl who danced like the wind and longed to do wild, ridiculous, and often dangerous things. The next I was the quiet intellectual, very careful in my responses and calculating in my pursuits. But underneath was a deep passion in all that I did.
